The Royal-Imperial Route is a tourist and cultural proposition for those fascinated with the uniqueness of this part of Europe. It is an exciting attempt to interpret the history of the city of Poznań within the context of European history. The Royal-Imperial Route is a quality tourist product that links important places and historic monuments. It runs through the most significant historical areas of the city demonstrating its spatial and cultural development. The route focuses on the most attractive features of Poznań that emphasize the city’s position on the cultural map of Europe. The Royal-Imperial Route is an exciting “journey”, full of dramatic turns, through the history of the city, Poland and Europe.

Art Stations Foundation’s activities concentrate in and around the Art Court at Stary Browar (Old Brewery)50 50. Stary Browar (Old Brewery) is a Commercial and Art Center based on an idea 50 50, where 50% is art, 50% is business. It is situated in a historic setting of the 19th century industrial architecture of the old brewery. 4. Sunday, September 12, 2010 - Post-conference trip to Łódź


We offer all conference participants a possibility to join the post-conference trip to Łódź - the nineteenth-century capital city of Polish capitalism developed in the unique conditions of coexisting cultures: Jewish, German, Polish and Russian. More information on Łódź http://en.cityoflodz.com)

(departure at 8 a.m., return about midnight)

The main purpose of the excursion is visiting the Art Museum in Lodz (Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi). The collection is housed in the historical building of the nineteenth-century weaving-house. The museum is one of the oldest institutions in Europe dealing with the art of avant-garde. The origins of the museum date back to 1931 when Władysław Strzemiński, on behalf of the group “a.r.”, donated a collection of contemporary artworks to Łódź Municipal Council.

2 . Option- Sunday and Monday, 12 and 13 September
(departure at 8 a.m.. This trip ends in Łodz, Monday September 13, about 1 a.m. There are some air-line connections from Łódź and Łódź is located about one and a half hour from Warsaw by train)

Monday:
The growth of Polish industry in the spirit of multiculturalism was accompanied by the impressive architectural development of Lodz. The walk around Industrial Lodz district such as Piotrowska street with buildings housing banks and institutions, together with Liberty Square ( Plac Wolnosci), visiting Manufaktura – the previous empire of I. Poznanski - and the Palace of Poznanski, is a suggestion of getting to know the architecture of the city. (In the module judaica, beside the visiting the Palace, the walk around the area of Litzmannstadt ghetto and visiting the Jewish Cemetery will be possible).
